Dear fellow good workers,
We are halfway through July - the second half of the year has begun in earnest! With my friends graduating and entering the workforce, chatting with people about career changes and seeing my friends try to start side projects, I’m thinking about transitions - the space between what has been and what is to be.
If you’ve ever been in the midst of change, you probably know how uncomfortable it is to be in the in-between. It can feel frustrating being in this transitionary period because, like a seed that has been planted but is yet to sprout, it looks like nothing is happening. Yet, there is so much to be found in the in-between. So much growth happens underneath before we begin to see the fruits of our work.
Whether you are just looking for your first job, trying to transition to a new career, or starting up a business or side project, just because you are yet to see results does not mean you are not growing in that direction. Like a new plant, you grow downwards before you grow upwards. You may not necessarily see your growth, but it is happening, and in due time, you will experience the joy of its rewards.
If you are waiting on something or some aspect of your self-growth, I hope you find the strength to be patient. There is so much to be found even here. What is this season of waiting leading you to learn or unlearn? How is it calling you to recognize a deeper version of yourself?
With love,
Toluwa
Soo good! I really needed this today
